The cattle farmer appeared on the first ever series of the E4 dating show

MARRIED At First Sight Australia star Lachlan Rofe has died aged 47 as loved ones paid tribute on social media.

The 47-year-old cattle farmer passed away suddenly at a home in Camden in New South Wales, Australia.

He joined the first ever series of the E4 reality TV show back in 2015 in an attempt to find love, with couples meeting for the first time at the altar.

Tributes have poured in on Facebook for the star as locals reacted to the heartbreaking news.

Fellow MAFS groom Ryan Donnelly penned: “Wow that’s tragic. I was born in Camden, very sad to lose a local so young RIP.”

Another local shared: “Love to the family, Lachlan loved that farm more than life itself. I’m saddened to hear this.”

One more person wrote: “Deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP.”

Police confirmed the tragic incident and said CPR was carried out at the scene.

They said: “Emergency services were called to a home in Razorback, where they found a man unresponsive.

“Ambulance paramedics commenced CPR but they were unable to revive him.

A cause of death is yet to be released.

Rofe was paired with bride Clare Tamas on MAFS Australia but they failed to make it to the end of the social experiment.

He was later seen on TV series Farmer Wants A Wifewhere he met girlfriend Belinda Reid.

They split before the show’s final, and he went on to meet girlfriend Kasey Williams.

He was found guilty of assaulting Williams in 2017 but the charges were later dropped after an appeal.

Rofe spoke to 7NEWS about the charges in 2018, admitting he was hoping to repair his reputation.

He said: “I’m too scared to even go see women ‘cos I just feel with everything that’s happened, I just feel like I’m a target.”
