Mama June’s Daughter Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon Wants Brother-In-Law to Be Possible Sperm Donor

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo‘s Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon said she’s considering her brother-in-law, Josh Efird, to be her sperm donor: “You ask who you can.”

Here comes an eyebrow-raising confession from Mama June Shannon‘s family.

Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon—the second oldest daughter of the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo alum—has been looking within her own clan amid her journey to have a baby with partner Shyann McCant. In fact, she’s even considering her younger sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird‘s husband, Josh Efird, to serve as the couple’s sperm donor.

“I don’t think people understand how expensive it is,” Jessica said of IVF treatments in an interview with Entertainment Tonight published June 12, “so you ask who you can.”

While Lauryn, 24, believes that there will be “a lot that ties into it” mentally and emotionally if her husband—with whom she shares kids Ella, 6; Bentley, 2½; and twins Sylus and Stella, 2—were to donate his sperm to her sister, she does agree with Jessica, 27, that there is a financial advantage in keeping it close to home.

She noted, “100 percent, you do ask who you can.”

As for Mama June? The matriarch admitted that the unconventional approach “threw me for a loop.”

“That was my reaction when I was told,” she said. “I was gonna leave it at that.” (The 44-year-old is also mom to daughters Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, who died in December at age 29, and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 18.)

However, June may have to get used to the idea soon, as Lauryn pointed out, Jessica’s girlfriend Shyann is “still bugging her” about having a baby together.

She added, “Shyann wants a ring too.”

Jessica has been dating Shyann, 21, since 2022. Last year, she penned a heartfelt tribute celebrating their first anniversary.
