Season 7 of Mama June: Family Crisis wrapped up in July. The season saw the reality TV family struggle with life’s complications, including the legal trouble of Alana’s boyfriend and the decline of Pumpkin’s marriage to Josh. They divorced in 2024.

Mama June’s Reality TV Transformation

Mama June’s reality TV fame began thanks to her daughter. Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson was part of TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras. Her personality and quips led to a spinoff, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. The show aired on TLC from 2012 until 2014. It was canceled after a scandal involving Mama June allegedly dating a s*x offender.

But her reality TV career wasn’t over. WeTV featured Mama June’s weight loss journey and makeover in Mama June: From Not to Hot in 2017. The show has continued for years under different names, including Mama June: Road to Redemption and now, Mama June: Family Crisis. 

Mama June revealed on social media that a new season of the show is filming. She gave a sneak peek at Season 8.

Sneak Peek Of New Season 8 Filming

Mama June’s daughter, Alana, was recently involved in a scary car wreck. Now 20, the girl formerly known as “Honey Boo Boo” is grown up, attending college, and living in Denver, Colorado.

The aftermath of the car wreck might be part of Season 8.

Mama June took to Instagram this week to share a sneak peek at filming the new season. The reality star and some of her family relaxed poolside. The video featured Mama June’s husband, Justin Stroud. The couple had a courthouse wedding in 2022, followed by a second ceremony in 2023.

“Come along behind the scenes on this rainy day in PCB,” Mama June wrote in the caption. A fan wrote in the replies that her son met Mama June at Pineapple Willy’s in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Other fans took to the comments to share their excitement about the new season.

But not everyone was supportive. One follower wanted to know why the kids were in the pool and not in school. Another snarkily asked if Alana paid for the trip.

“Did Alana pay for this trip too? POS You don’t deserve to be called a mother. PERIOD,” they angrily wrote.

Mama June has admitted to using the money her daughter made from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and other shows to fund her addiction. It led to a strained relationship between the two for years, but they seem to be on better terms these days.
