1000-Lb. Sisters: Tammy Slaton Responds to Critics After Getting New Teeth — Fans Never Saw This Coming
Tammy Slaton’s latest cosmetic procedure is going to silence her haters.
The 1000-Lb. Sisters star recently debuted her new set of teeth after having a bridge installed. And while the work was done just for her, the Fat Boy App founder admitted that it was also a good way to quiet the criticism.
“Well, some of them,” Tammy said on the Aug. 19 episode of the Creative Chaos podcast about the past chatter surrounding her smile, quipping, “Haters make me famous.”
Indeed, Tammy, 39, replaced the gap that appeared in the front of her teeth and filled in missing teeth. Still, her smile upgrade is a work in progress.
“They’re temporary still,” she added about the procedure. “They had to cement them in cause the glue wasn’t holding. My body was rejecting it. They had to pull teeth and it’s a bridge. I’m still getting more done. It’s a process.”
According to Tammy, the bridge—which is a false tooth that’s anchored to adjacent natural teeth to bridge the gap in an individual’s smile—has made a slight change in her voice.
“I have a lisp now,” she shared. “It will go away eventually.”
She added, “The only way I can think my voice might have changed is cause I’m happier.”
Tammy’s enhanced smile comes two months after she underwent skin removal surgery in June after losing over 500 pounds. Amid her progress, the TLC star hasn’t been shy when it comes to calling out those who comment on her appearance including those who told her: “Fix your teeth.”
“With all due respect, I wish people like you would stop commenting crap like this,” Tammy said in a January 2024 TikTok video. “It’s not helping my confidence. I was trying to keep my confidence boosted and seeing comments about my chin or my teeth doesn’t help.”
At the time, Tammy shared that working on her smile wasn’t an instant or cheap fix.
“I’m trying to better my life and better myself,” she continued. “We should be lifting up people. It doesn’t matter if I’m missing teeth.”
Tammy added, “It’s sad. Why hate?”
